Digital dentistry

Digital dentistry uses state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology (Computer-Aided Design / Computer-Aided Manufacturing) to produce dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and veneers with precision, efficiency, and a high level of aesthetics. Digital impressions eliminate the need for traditional impressions using impression material—for patients, this means comfortable, fast, and accurate results.

What is CAD / CAM and CEREC?

CEREC is a well-known CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing) system that allows dental restorations to be digitally designed and fabricated right in the dental office.

Using the Primemill milling machine, your dental restorations are fabricated directly in the dental office; it ensures the highest precision, smooth surfaces, and a precise fit. In just a few minutes, this digital milling machine can process various materials, guaranteeing rapid fabrication and optimal aesthetics.

Production process at a glance

  • Examination of the condition of the teeth, selection of materials and colors
  • Digital impression: An intraoral 3D scanner captures the teeth contact-free, precisely, and comfortably.
  • Digital planning (CAD): Your trained dentist designs the crown or inlay on the computer screen and digitally adjusts it.
  • Fabrication (CAM manufacturing): Precise milling of the crown, bridge, or veneers directly in the office using our state-of-the-art Primemill milling machine from Sirona, made of glass-ceramic, ceramic, or composite
  • Placement: The finished crown or inlay is placed directly in the mouth after characterization and polishing.
